One phrase that struck me was: \"Do not assume that because a topic interests you that it will be equal interest to your students. Get to know them and their interests. It will assist you greatly in selecting suitable material\". That statement actually is a good reminder not only for me but to everyone, it will be a good use in selecting a topic to your students.This unit had me pondering on what theories and methodologies would be useful for different situations within the classroom, as well as allowing me a greater understanding of the different styles used in English teaching from the use of the grammar-translation method to the correct structure of a patchwork ESA lesson, and how to fill time with engaging activities.
