This section taught about 1. Past Simple tense 2. Past Continuous tense 3. Past Perfect tense 4. Past perfect continuous tense It gave an explanation of these tenses and also their usages. It also gave the different verbs past participle form. With the usages it is easy to understand and teach it to students.As mentioned in the introduction, having been absent from a classroom for some time, I too haven't considered grammar from this perspective for many years. Readdressing the foundations has benefited my knowledge base and further added to understanding the difficulties of learning English as a foreign language.
