Course books are something that I have used in many of my language classes throughout my school career, but I can definitely say I appreciated the teachers who diverged from reading through the text for the entire lesson. Learning in a classroom is so much better when the teacher can creatively incorporate the language and the lesson into other activities that are fun and engaging. Considering what kind of students I will be teaching is also crucially important because it may happen that the students cannot afford the book, which will force me to be a lot more creative with how I teach it and what materials I decide to use.
