Unit 11 was about teaching receptive skills such as reading and listening. I liked the suggestions on having varies materials to choose from and also choosing topics that the students will find interesting. I think it is a good idea to pre-teach difficult vocabulary so that the students can keep up with the reading and not feel discouraged.Classroom management is a serious issue teachers deal with. Students have different personalities which calls for different disciplinary skills to be used. This unit has provided ways in which to manage and control a class, establish rapport and ensure discipline. The methods provided are helping for the teacher to utilize in the classroom.
