I found this unit to be very beneficial. For me, I have taught both with and without a course book. Having taught either one or the other, I often found that both methods took a great deal of testing and refinement to get them just right. This lesson helped me a great deal, as it helped me to better understand that mixing both methods is the most useful approach. I very much like the idea of a book, where I can follow a syllabus that is already proven, but that I can tailor to the needs of my students.
