In this unit, we learned about the advantages and disadvantages of using a textbook. A textbook does provided an orgranized structured way to teach but it doesn't cater to individual needs. The teacher should also substitute other methods when appropriate such as using authentic materials and other creative activities. A good teacher knows how to find balance between using a textbook and using creative materials.
