This lesson really unpacks how to design lessons and select coursebooks. For my students, it is imperative that I consider textbook costs when I choose one. Furthermore, to help alleviate those costs, I must also supplement with created and authentic lesson materials in order to avoid requiring students to purchase a multitude of ancillary materials. The helpful supplements (word puzzles and role-play cards) are terrific, and I will use them as models in my own work. I'm also going to consider adding in more authentic texts at various levels.
