This unit used video to show two different approaches to an English Second Language lesson plan. The first video highlighted some mistakes, and a class which was oftentimes confused or not engaged in the lesson. The second video showed a much more engaged classroom in which the students were having fun with the lesson and were all engaged.It was very useful for me to learn what to look for in a course book, as well as how to adjust it to the students' needs by omitting, supplementing and adapting the activities from the book. I also found it very interesting to learn how we teachers can use authentic materials, their advantages and disadvantages, as well a how to select them.
