Unit 20 focuses in much greater depth than Unit 19 in problems that may arise in the classroom. It provides strategies for building rapport with new groups, and how to effectively ?warm up? students at the beginning of class. The unit views at five main problems that are commonly found in English courses and gives strategies on how to address them. The first is having students at varying levels inside a classroom, in which case it is suggested to split the class into groups and differentiate tasks or materials. The second challenge is having large classrooms, in which case, it is suggested to break up the class into pairs and provide individualized tasks like worksheets to guarantee maximum student involvement. The third challenge is the use of native tongue, which was briefly addressed in the previous unit. The fourth challenge has to do with lack of participation, in which case it is also recommended to break up class into pairs and include controlled activities. Finally, the fifth challenge refers to students? difficulty with listening exercises. As this challenge was addressed before, the unit does not go too in depth. A good suggestion was to keep extra work handy for students who finish first, and how to keep the class?s pace when students finish work at varying degrees of speed.
