Firstly, this unit helped me to reflect on the ES, Boomerang and Patchwork ESA lessons. Secondly I have learned that when selecting new vocabulary for students that it should be done carefully to suit the level and ability of the students. For example you cannot introduce the word 'deforestation' to a level 1 student. Students at an early level do not need to know the origin of a new word and students of Primary Level for example do not need to know how often a sentence structure is used when teachers introduce ne language. These points are helpful to remember so one doesn't waste time teaching irrelevant content and wasting time in a lesson. Lastly the 'Techniques for presenting and practicing language structures' given in this unit is very helpful using the ESA lesson structure.
