This section gave an overview of the different parts of speech. First was nouns including noun types (common, abstract, collective, etc.), pluralization, and countability. Second we went over adjectives in the basic form, then in the comparative form used when comparing one noun to another, and finally superlative adjective used when a noun encapsulates the totality of the adjective. The natural order in which adjective occur was also basically introduced as size-age-color-matierial. The third section discussed articles and how their uses are related to the countability of a noun and whether the definite or indefinite article is correct. Verbs were discussed later in the section. Transitive vs intransitive verbs were outlined and this distinguishes between verbs that take an object and verbs that don't. In regards to verbs, the 4 basic verb forms were discussed. Basic verb tenses were introduced and the used of the gerund form (or noun form) of verbs was outlined as well. The next sections dealt with adverbs and how they modify or described verbs based on method or frequency. The next section focused on pronouns and introduced their basic functions of taking the place of a more complicated noun, set of nouns, or noun phrase. The final section dealt with the use of conjunctions to join sets of nouns or sentence clauses.
