M.J. - There were parts of this course that were much more challenging than I had anticipated. It clearly made evident the fact that I did not have a very strong hold of the more ?prescriptive? grammar skills. It was definitely those units that were the most difficult. However, I did appreciate the fact that the grammar units were alternated with the practical pedagogy units. This made the course more varied and interesting. I also appreciated the unit that we received on DVD. I am a visual learner and I am sure that reading about the same ideas that were conveyed on film, would not have been as effective. This basic TESOL program was full of the necessary background needed for teaching, and I am sure that all these units are going to be referred to, over and again, during my teaching experiences with ESL students However, it was definitely geared toward the adult learner, so I am looking forward to the extra units on teaching children. I will be teaching ESL support to middle school students this year and I have a feeling that the next program will prove to be an essential addition to my newly gained knowledge. I want to thank Tania for being our guide through this program. She was always prompt and thorough with her responses to our units. And, I must say that we are grateful to the TESOL organization for having such a course available to us online. Thank you!
