Having taken undergrad Education courses I thought I was going to know a lot of what this course was going to teach me, but I was wrong. While there was some similar content of basic pedagogy, I did not realize how deep the study of Teaching english as a Foreign Language was. I am going to be teaching english in South Korea this fall and will not know the age level of my students until I arrive. This course has taught me what to expect in teaching learners of different age levels. This course also gave me a good idea of the types of grammar and vocabulary I will most likely need to teach and some good methods to go about teaching them. I really appreciated the grammar review for my own needs; I was surprised how much has been forgotten over the years. I have also looked up some of the texts referenced in this material and plan on ordering a few when I get settled across seas.
