This course taught me that trying to be a good teacher is an ever changing journey. One where right and wrong are not always as important as a positive attitude and lots of encouragement. And it was both fun, and painful, to step back to freshman high school english as grammar, tenses, modals, gerunds and the lot re-entered my brain on a daily basis. I also learned how much I have yet to learn to be a "good" teacher. Something I'm looking forward to with pleasure. I currently live in an english speaking country where I'm hoping to get work as a beginning instructor working with non-native speakers who are interested in learning both the basics as well as more advanced lessons in english usage. Through this course I learned of all the different resources available to a new teacher from online, to libraries, to my tutor, Peter. I definitely plan to mine these resources as I enter the ESL teaching profession, and have learned to be ever vigilante about learning how to use new/different tools to make my classes educational and fun all at once.
