Teach English in LongshAn Jiedao - Chongqing

This has been a great course for me and the format was perfect for my learning style. I feel that I have gained a solid, foundational understanding the ESA method and good, preliminary experience in creating lesson plans. The grammar refresher has been challenging but extremely important to my future success as a TEFL teacher and I know that my study in that area will continue and my ability will strengthen as time goes on. My awareness of the challenges of language learners was increased as well and it was quite fortuitous that I happened to be studying spanish in an online course that uses the ?Tell Me More? software at the same time. The spanish course followed the ESA method and used speech recognition software and the same types of exercises (matching, gap fill, and sentence completion) as this course. So often, I was experiencing a method as a spanish student, at the same time as I was learning to use the method as a teacher. It helped me to understand how effective the engage, activate, study phases can be. As a first step to putting into practice what I have learned, I will be teaching as a volunteer at a non-profit in Ecuador that I have been associated with for the last 3 years. After that, I am moving the Panama for 5 months and I would like to either volunteer teach or secure a temporary teaching job there. My husband and I are taking this trip to look for business opportunities as well so I am interested to see where there might be a need for a language school outside of Panama City given how fast the country is growing. I have 20 years of corporate executive experience and have owned my own businesses in the past so perhaps a language school will be my next venture!
