I have gained several things from this course. I certainly have a better understanding of and appreciation for the grammar system of my native language. I gained familiarity and some practice with the ESA structure for planning language lessons. I gained familiarity with a wide variety of ideas for teaching, engaging activities and learning games. I have added many useful websites to a folder of bookmarks devoted to TEFL resources. I have some awareness now of the International Phonemic Alphabet and the basics of phonology. I have a greater awareness of the types of evaluation and testing unique to the EFL world. Finally, I gained some awareness of ways to modify my teaching approach for various special groups. I plan to continue learning about english grammar. I plan to further explore TEFL resources and to make contacts with other teachers on the World Wide Web and in my own community. I intend to observe some english classes in my town. I hope to find a job as a teacher of english, and/or to teach individual students. Finally, in a few years, my wife and I plan to take advantage of our dual-citizenship status to live in italy and I intend to work there as a teacher of english.
