This course has given me new insight into the realm of teaching. I have gained important knowledge in terms of what to expect from students, how to structure lessons according to the students? needs, how to plan lessons and how to teach language. These have been the most important lessons for me. As a language tutor, I feel that my grasp and ability to explain language is competent. However, my knowledge of how to make the lessons more enjoyable and more suited to specific students has been expounded upon greatly. The activities and lesson plans that the course teaches are incredibly user friendly and helpful in teaching. I think I will make good use of lesson plans and the lesson structuring techniques taught in this course. For the time being, I think that most of what I have learnt will be put into use in the language lessons I give in one-to-one lessons. Already, I have been able to get more out of the students just by structuring my lessons differently. I plan on applying to TEFL posts overseas and I plan on combining my knowledge of english with the TEFL way of teaching. This course?s material will be put to great use in my lessons as I keep all the material and I refer back to it frequently for ideas on how to keep my lessons fresh and fun.
