Unit 6 deals with past tenses - past simple and continuous and past perfect and past perfect continuous. The explanations are clear and examples are plentiful and helpful as are the suggestions for teaching and practice, and the advice on where students have the greatest difficulty. As with previous grammar units it is in these last areas of classroom practice and student difficulty that I feel I learn most.This unit was a good recap and reinforcement of the ESA method. The use of text books, flash cards and authentic material was pretty straight forward. By keeping the topics relevant this will keep the students and to be fair the teacher interested and involved. By reinforcing the authentic material using games, word finds and other work sheets, students will get a sense that they are growing their skills.
