This was an interesting unit on teaching special groups. As an online ESL teacher I work with global students and Chinese students. Primarily my students are between the ages of 25 and 50. These students are most likely from China and their company pays for them to learn English. This course has helped me understand how to adhere to standards while creating a unique class environment for all levels and ages.This unit was rather challenging for me. I found that understanding \"Direct Speech\" is more complicated than I had thought. I think this is something that comes naturally for me when I am speaking. I don't give it much thought and I had not realized there was so many ways to report speech. I can see how the message would be confusing to the reader or listener if the reported sentence was not worded just right.
