When selecting vocabulary, we need to consider the following criteria; appropriacy to the student, appropriacy to the task, frequency and coverage, and teachability. Things that a student needs to know about a new vocabulary are meaning, spelling, pronunciation, usage, word grammar, and interaction. Things that a student need to know about grammatical structures are meaning, usage, forms and patterns, and spoken and written form.I now have a better understanding of some of the speech that I have been using all my life. It is good to see the different structures and now allows me to understand why some sentences sound correct and others don't when they are presented to me. I also now know the difference between the future tenses and the present tenses used for future items and why they are that way. Now I see the forms and can help others understand them.
