Unit 13 is about pronunciation. Pronunciation is an often neglected skill in English learning. The phonetic alphabet is important in the teaching of intonation, stress, and rhythm. Intonation is important because it carries the meaning of the sentence. Stress helps identify which part of the sentence the speaker is emphasizing. The phonetic alphabet will greatly benefit students of English, so the teacher should be familiar with it.This section was quite overwhelming because as it explains many different methods of teaching, it emphasises the importance of teaching orders and methods from the teacher. However, it was very helpful for me to think about teaching English. I believe what it said in this section is not only helpful in teaching English, but also helpful in any kind of teaching because it teaches how to communicate well and wisely with target groups.
