All theories, methods and teaching are important at each stage. But there are so many different approaches and methods it is difficult to decide which is the best to use. All techniques are useful and effective in their own way. Teacher should use a variety of elicitation techniques during a lesson but teacher have to be aware of appropriate techniques for student language level. Teacher try to be as aware of culture and local language.This unit covers teaching special groups such as children and business English students. I learned about the different approaches to take towards each kind of student, and how motivation may vary between groups. This unit also gave some tips on how to approach one on one classes. Another thing I took from the unit is the need to do a 'needs analysis' with business students to find out how they already use or need to use English at work.
