I have learned how to effectively make different types of lesson plans; straight ESA, Bomerang, and Patchwork. In the past, I would just have done a straight ESA but now I know that there are different styles. Lessons do not have to be so straightforward, i.e A to B to C. We can start with C and then go back to explain A and B, that will make it more interesting for students. In addition, I have learned that the english tenses are far more complicated than I had expected: Future, Present, Past Simple, perfect, and continuous. Memorizing each tense and explaining how to use them to a non-native speaker is very complicated and challenging. Moreover, I have realized that many of the problems that I am having in my classes are quite normal and are experienced by other ESL students and teachers but there are a great many resources out there to help me improve the class.
