The things that have been most beneficial throughout the course are grammar and lesson planning. Lesson planning as a teacher is prerequisite, but having the ability to learn about boomerang and patchwork lesson plans allowed for better developed lessons. This really allowed for 'good' lesson plans to become fully developed, 'great' lesson plans through the application of ESA principles. As for the grammar aspect of this course, it?s funny how, when growing up, you just learn things and that?s it. As native speakers, some things are naturally learned so you really don?t think about how and why words and sentences are put together. Having to teach non-native speakers what is correct and incorrect can prove to be a challenge. Taking this course has strengthened our understanding of grammar and its proper usage. Despite the frustration and struggles provided by the challenging units in this course, We are more confident in our teaching abilities. This has truly been a great exercise in teaching the right way.
