Throughout this course I have learned many very valuable lessons ? parts of speech; TEFL theories and techniques; past, present, and future tenses; how to manage a class; pronunciation; grammar; how to use teaching aids, course books and lesson materials; etc. Although every lesson was informative and useful in its own way, I feel that the most invaluable tool that I have learned is how to correctly prepare for and plan lessons. I intend to use all that I have learned throughout this course while I am teaching in South korea. I leave in February, and since I had several months of ?free time? before leaving, I thought that taking this course would be great preparation for when I arrive at the school and begin my teaching career. I was right! Overall, I have not only gained knowledge about how to teach english as a second language, but have also gained confidence and experience to conduct my own classes.
