One of the best things I?ve gotten out of the course is the knowledge that I am capable of being an english teacher. For someone who doesn?t have formal training in teaching, it seems like an impossible task that I am not qualified to do. But after being exposed to learning theories, being given advice and tips, and having to think through individual lessons that I will potentially give, I am much more comfortable and accepting of the idea of teaching. The break-down of grammar lessons versus ?how to teach? lessons was appropriate and fairly equal, with a good organization of the two main types of lessons. I am currently job searching and have sent several applications to schools in poland. After teaching in Poland, my dream job is to work in france (starting in about 15 months), since french was my major in university. I plan to apply to a program run by the french government to become an english language assistant in Fall 2011. Although they don?t require tefl certification, I would have wanted to take the course anyway just to be more comfortable with the idea and methods of teaching.
