There was a very good deal of information in this course. I learned the structures of past, present and future tenses. With this knowledge I will be able to present to the students the form of each tense while describing how and when to use them. I learned how to write and plan lessons while keeping them fun and interesting to the students. This will help me plan each lesson with pictures, exercises, and activities to keep the students motivated. I learned about phonology so I can teach students that changing the tone and stress alters the meaning of the sentence. The issue I was most nervous about was how to keep the class interesting. I was initially worried that if I showed pictures to an older class it might make it seems like I was treating them like children, but I now see just by changing the picture to something more appropriate it will still benefit their educational process. Since I am a native speaker of english, I did not realize how the little things I say in everyday speech are actually something I should teach to the students. Before this course, I was under the impression that I should just teach proper formal english. Now, I see that the students will benefit by learning informal and improper english, in addition to formal, as they will find it more common while visiting english speaking countries.
