Our 60-hour certificate course provides a solid introduction to the world of TEFL/TESOL. The course is popular with a wide range of people, particularly those who are looking for an insight into the language teaching industry and those who are planning to work as a teaching volunteer. One of the most popular features of this online course is the flexibility you are given to proceed at whatever pace you feel comfortable with. Another added benefit is our complimentary support services that are available to you for the length of your teaching career.
Once you have enrolled on the course you will receive an email containing the details you need to sign in to our online course system. From within your section of the system you will be able to access the course materials which you can choose to either study online or download to your own computer.
At the end of each unit your understanding of the material will be evaluated before you move on and study the following unit. When all units have been successfully completed you will complete the final essay writing task. Upon successful completion of all the course units and the final essay writing task, you will graduate.
Our 60-hour course is intended to provide a solid introduction to the varied world of teaching the English language to non native speakers. The course materials have been designed to help you develop the essential skills and knowledge that are required to deliver a successful lesson in the classroom.
Please note that many employers will insist on their teachers having a certificate of 120 hours or more (see our 120-hour certificate course).
This course is considered to be at an introductory level which means that the materials focus solely on essential teaching skills. The subjects covered include teaching theories and methodologies, classroom management, lesson planning and how to test and evaluate your students’ progress. The relatively short format of the course means it is unable to cover language awareness issues and certain other important components that are included in our 120-hour course.
Our high-quality written materials are organized into ten individual units that are intended to gradually increase your understanding, without overwhelming you with information. Because of this carefully designed layout, you should be able to comfortably work your way through the course at a pace that suits your personal circumstances and learning style.
