This unit introduced the more advanced topics of conditional and reported speech. Conditional speech refers to possibilities in the past, the present, and the future. Conditionals use the term if or when to denote that actions or conditions lead to consequences (the term \"consequences\" doesn't refer to a negative concept here, but rather as as an effect of some requirements being met), and these conditions and consequences can be real or hypothetical. Reported speech involves repeating somebody else's words for various reasons. The tense use here is complicated and situational, and must be taught very slowly because there are so many opportunities for variations and mistakes.
