In this unit we learn about different evaluation methods being tests, evaluation by students and tutorials. Tests is the more extensive part of these three. There is different types of tests to achieve different goals. Placement test will grade the language level of students and should be done at the beginning of the course to establish which students should be in the same class as per their knowledge level. Diagnostic test can also be done at the same stage to determine the problems the students have at that point in time and to plan accordingly for lessons. Progress test should be done periodically to determine what the students have learned and this is also a good way of revision and letting the students know their progress. Practice tests are very helpful for the preparation of external exams.
