I found the difference between adverbs and prepositions to be particularly complexing. The reason being is that the same words can serve multiple purposes. The definition of a preposition is connecting different parts of the sentence with a noun. Prepositions modify time, movement, place, or position, It was said that usually a direct object is necessary. Adverbs modify the verb in terms of time, place, degree, frequency, or attitude. From my perspective, \"I'm playing video games with my friends\" modifies the verb. It's describing how you're playing. But according to the tutor and other sources, it's a preposition that is modifying the subject pronoun \"I\". This was and still is honestly confusing for me. Also, definitive articles are quite confusing. I know \"the\" is supposed to refer to a specific group or thing where the listener will understand the reference. But how about in my previous sentence, where I used \"the\" in front of \"same\". There seems to be some unbreakable sets that don't make particular sense to me. I'd say I'm going to the bakery, even if that reference and particular bakery is not known to the listener. But I suppose because I understand the reference, it is used. Now that I've covered the more specific topics, I'd like to review general knowledge I have gained during this unit.
