In this unit I learnt about modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. Modals are: can, could, may, might, should, shall, will, would, must, have to, have got to, need to, needn't to, needn't and ought to. They are used before other verbs to add meaning to the main verb. Modals can express obligation, possibility, permission, ability and advice. In passive voice, the object of an active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb. In passive voice the agent or doer of the action is less important. I learnt the 3 different clauses: independent, dependent and relative. Finally I also learnt about the 3 types oh phrasal verbs: intransitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable.
