The second unit is very informative as it touches such aspects as methods, theories and techniques that exist in the teaching English as a foreign language.The unit gives a comprehensive description of each method used in English teaching but states that no one of approaches is ideal. Thus, it is very important for me as a teacher to know how to organize the lesson activities in the best way and create the most successful learning environment for my students. I have learnt the main characteristics of an effective method suggested by Jeremy Harmer that includes three main elements: Engage, Study, Activate. Moreover, I have come across a new term ?Elicitation?, that means asking thought-provoking questions, which is very important for development of students communicative skills. In addition I have learnt the important information about such types of ESA as ?Straight Arrow?, ?Boomerang?, ?Patchwork? and have learnt how to apply them. I found very useful and interesting the ideas for Engage phase, which I will definitely use during my classes. Finally it was very important for me to learn the information about how, where and by whom the mistakes and errors should be corrected, as well as how the feedback during the lesson is important.
