In Unit 4 we learned about tenses. There are three tenses in the English language past, present and future. Within those three tense there are four different aspects of each simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. Unit 4 focused on the four aspects of the present tense. Elaborating on each aspects form or grammatical construction and fundamental rules, usage or how and when an aspect is used, typical student errors and inspirational ideas for how to practice each in the Activate stage of a lesson. One important thing to note as a teacher is the vast number if irregular verbs and how they conjugate in each tense. Take for example the verb 'write', in the present simple it is write, in the present continuous it is writing, in the present perfect it is written and in the present perfect condition it becomes writing once again. While a much more regular verb such as 'watch' becomes watch, watching, watched, and watching in the four aspects of the present tense. The ~ed ending is common and an easy to remember rule with many verbs while the other irregulars must be memorized.
