When teaching English, it is important to be familiar with the equipment and teaching aids that will be used for the lesson beforehand, and their proper usage. The equipment covered in the unit: white/black boards, Interactive whiteboard, overhead projector, visual aids, worksheets and work cards, cassette recorder, videos and DVDs, video camera, dictionary, course books, resource books, photocopier, computers, and online resources. When using electronic equipment, it is important to have a backup plan in case of technical difficulties. If the electronic devices are usable, the knowledge of how to use the device should be known beforehand and practiced in advance. An important note that I learned was not to use capitalization is not an effective means to highlight text as it makes text more difficult to read. Each equipment should have its appropriate usage for the lesson plan such as worksheets for the study phase to cover grammar. Finally, the students should be provided with the appropriate supplementary materials to be able to finish the activities appropriately.
