This is the unit I've spent the most time on so far. Phonolgy and Pronunciation are things I learned many years ago and now just do it while speaking and I don't even think about it. It is something that comes up a lot during lessons and conversations with non-native speakers. I learned that pronunciation is often neglected, but should be an integral part of teaching. Pronunciaton can vary from situation, mood or country of the speaker. Phonology is a whole system of sounds in English. Stress can vary on individual words, while intonation is the volume and picth of a whole sentence. Spelling of a word and how it is pronounced differs greatly and the chart about phonetic symbols were very useful. I often forget the symbols and then find it difficult to read or explain to students. After this unit, it was much easier reading phonetic script. All in all, a very useful unit. Thank you.
