There are four things that students need to do with new language; be exposed to it, understand it's meaning, understand how it is constructed and be able to practice and produce it. The teacher really need to prepare the students with realia, for them to grasp grammar as it is the tree trunk and the branches, while the leaves are the vocabulary and functions which add to the formation of the sentence. Therefore the teacher has to ensure that students are introduced to new language in a balanced and manageable way.
