In this unit I learned about the 4 different past tenses, their form, usage and various ways to teach them to my future students. The unit has a lot of similarities to the unit about present tenses. The main thing I learned in this unit is the reason why we use the different past tenses.The Past Simple tense is used to talk about completed past actions at a particular time or time frame in the past.The Past Continuous tense is used to talk about a certain action that was in progress in the past at a particular time.The Past Perfect tense is used to talk about a past action that occurred Before another past actionThe Past Perfect Continuous is used to talk about an action in the past that had been going on up to a certain moment in the past. This action might still be going on, but we can't tell by the sentence.
