This unit deals with the two productive sides of language; speaking and writing. The unit starts by explaining how important speaking is and how there are two sides to a person's ability to speak. There is a person's ability to be fluent which is how creative a person is with their language and there is a a person's accuracy in language, which is how correct the person's speech is. The unit goes on to explain how both are important and how a person needs to master both to be good at new language. The unit goes on to explain writing and the parts that make up writing, from penmanship to grammar and how each is important. The unit also gives ideas on how to teach both topics and ends with an ESA sample lesson.
