In this unit we looked at different ways to evaluate students' levels and progress. We also looked at some of the extenal exams that you may need to prepare your students for. There are different ways to evaluate your student, you could ask them different types of question to establish there knowledge of the language. Evaluation is the hottest issue in Korea. What's worse, all the academic systems in my country heavily focus on the result of the evaluation itself. I've learned a variety of ways of evaluation depending on their own purposes and uses. Ultimately I hope tests become a tool for learning, not a goal of learning. This unit gives a clear framework outline for the testing component of teaching english. I found it very helpful because it can be difficult to quantify the level of understanding at the beginning of a course. I also was not aware of the different types of external examinations available.
