Pronunciation should be given importance by teachers for it is an aspect of english language that is often neglected to teach. In order to teach pronunciation, teachers should be knowledgeable enough with stress, rhythm, intonation and on the International Phonetic Alphabet. After studying this unit, I felt that I need to focus more on studying and practicing the correct pronunciation of words and even sentences. The meaning of each sentence varies according to where the speaker put the emphasis of the word/s. That is the reason why practicing pronunciation should also not be taken for granted in order to avoid misunderstanding.
