Unit 13 focused on an unfortunately not-well-taught area of english - that is pronunciation and phonology.Phonology is the classification of the physical properties of sounds. Phonology includes intonation (the variation between volume and pitch in a whole sentence). There is also stress, which is the strong part that is pronounced in a sentence. There is also sound joining (linking, sound dropping, sound changing and extra lettering) and linked speech. A way to teach students how to pronounce English words correctly is to use the phonetic alphabet, which describes the manner and articulation of sounds in the mouth.
