This unit was an in depth look at the receptive language skills (reading and listening.) Like most other skills, they are most easily learned when the students are both interested and able to understand the vocabulary and structure. This is achieved by using material that the students can related to and changing the topic from lesson to lesson so as not to isolate any students uninterested in previous topics. It is also important to pre-teach any language that the students might be unfamiliar with so they won't get lost.A teacher has to be very flexible and to adopt quickly to different situations. Teaching adults is different then teaching children. There are some advantages and disadvantages in teaching adults. A teacher has to bare in mind that they have to find a different methodology while teaching adults. Also there are differences and some challenges in teaching groups and individual clients.
Teachers can choose different teaching methodologies when planning the lesson that will depend on the goal a teacher is trying to achieve.
