The four basic skills of any language are receptive skills, reading and listening, as well as productive skills, speaking and writing. When teaching students receptive skills, problems and difficulties may arise. There are strategies to try to evade these issues. These include pre-teaching vocabulary and carefully selecting texts that interest will students. Varying material type, building interest before the lesson, and using realistic comprehensive tasks are also ways to help students become better readers and listeners.In this unit, I realize that English teachers should try their best to make their lessons good even if there are problems they meet in the class. To do this, the teacher should anticipate problems and be prepared to solve them when they come during the lesson. Also, make sure that the teacher establish connection or rapport with the students. No matter how prepared a teacher is for the lesson, if he or she doesn't build a connection with the students, then there will still be problems in the teaching and learning process.
