As has been emphasized in earlier chapters, a teacher making consistent interruptions to correct during speaking exercises would be excruciating and demoralizing for students. It is our responsibility to note errors as they occur without drawing the class's, or the individual's, attention to each small error, so that we can more constructively correct errors later. Recurring class errors can illuminate our own mistakes in presenting the material, and provide grounds for valuable remedial classes before moving to our next topic. This unit talks about conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are sentences that focus on such words as if or when, that refer to a past, present, or future event. I found this section useful because it explains the different types of conditionals very well. The second part of the unit discusses reported speech and active speech. These refer to conversations that happened in the past. This part of the unit was very useful because it gives great examples of words to use when replacing words such as tomorrow or yesterday.
