For unit 17 we studied the use of teaching aids in the classroom. For most of the lesson, we listed specific visual aids along with their uses, weaknesses, things to take into account when using them (preparation, training, etc) along with URL examples that we can use when we prepare our own lessons. Some of the examples included in this lesson were writing boards, overhead projectors, DVDs and cassette tapes, worksheets and work cards, dictionaries and computers.For me, teaching is something entirely new. I have been in front of a class (Zumba and yoga) before. However, the students in these classes were all beginners. That made it quite easy for me because knowledge was easily transferred. What the students need to know to become better at Zumba or yoga is also a bit less complicated than learning a new language. I am happy to have read all the possible ways to make the learning experience fun and effective in this unit.
