As a current assistant language teacher, it was refreshing to learn other detailed ways of teaching. One example was knowing when to correct students. During certain points of a lesson, depending on what stage you are at, correcting a student could hinder and possibly even damage further participation in the lesson. Of course, we should do this while keeping the three occassions in mind (mistake with language point, mistake is made repeatedly by the student/class, and damaged/impedes understanding). I also learned new teaching \"game\" strategies that I may incorporate in my further teachings. Possible tongue twisters to improve and enhance pronounciation, and even slow pictionary for my elementary school students. It allows me to give Hangman a break and try something new for the students!
