This unit is to help teachers to decide the level of their students in English proficiency. It describes the many tests and courses students can take or are required to take in order to be allowed to study and/or work in an English-speaking country. Placement tests and diagnostic tests are the most helpful initially to see where the students abilities are and what they need to work on. This will help the teacher create lessons for the class. Progress tests will allow the teacher to see how much information the students have retained and what they need to review. Practice tests will help the students prepare for external exams.
