This unit was about classroom management. This included topics of the teacher's eye contact, gestures, voice, and talk time. Teacher talk time should be minimal and used for simple instruction, praise, and to give natural, proper examples of the English language. How students are grouped will be based on the activity or lesson, classroom space, and class size. Students will be grouped as a whole class (potencially lowering some students' talk time), individually (good for individual learning paces), pair work (most student talk time, but might not like their partner), and group work (good for student talk time, activity might take longer, good cooperation and negotiation). Lastly, classroom arrangement was discussed. Arrangement depends on space, tables/chairs, and student's age, nationality, and personalities. Some arrangement options are rows, circles/horseshoes, and separate tables. Another important thing to consider while teaching is if you should sit or stand during the lesson. You should stand during instructions and language presentations, and when monitoring the class. You should sit while students are in the Activate lesson or when the class is reading.
