Unit 14 discusses the pros and cons of using course books and authentic materials. I believe both are equally important. Course books can be outdated and cause the students to become uninterested with the course work and that is why I agree that having a balanced amount of authentic material within the lesson plan can be rejuvenating for the students and bring a breath of fresh air to the classroom.
